Where's My Cup of Coffee?
I'm guessing those still defending Fredi must be heavy drinkers, that's all I got that makes sense. Then again watching Fredi try to manage makes me want to join them in heavy drinking.![]()
I'm not defending Fredi. I'm more going against those who use a lot of hyperbole to try and illustrate how bad Fredi is as a manager. Fredi is no different than the majority of managers in baseball. The manager overall has very little effect on outcomes. The majority of managers are at the center of the bell curve, and then you have a few on the upper end like Buck Showalter and a few on the lower end like Matt Williams. The rest are all in the middle, and you can close your eyes to pick one and get similar results.
Those that want to dump Fredi Gonzalez aren't looking for improvement. They are looking for someone who isn't named Fredi Gonzalez.
Personally, I'd be glad to let Terry Pendleton finish the season out and give him a shot to manage the team next year. I think TP has the make up to be a great manager.
