This is why I hate statheads, stats is the only thing they look at. The guy is out there making good plays that is helping us win and people still think he's a terrible defender. Is he really any worse than Chipper's been over there in past years? I don't think so. Nobody is saying he's gonna win a gold glove.

Is he worse than Chipper, maybe not,but should that be our standard? Being not worse than a 40 year old with bad knees who wasn't spectacular when he was healthy and young. Martin Prado isn't a spectacular defensive 3B and he's way better than Johnson can dream of being.
 
Thinking, with Wood pitching for us and Lee for them, it's going to take more than 2 runs to win this one. Of course the last time I said that in a game thread, when we were at 2 or 3 runs, we didn't score the rest of the game and still won.
 
TIL advanced stats don't allow a player to get better. Their past is an absolute predictor of their future.

Come on Zito. You always say there is no way to judge the plays he doesn't make so how much are you really using whats actually happening. Even Sickels scouting report of Johnson said he was a good defensive player. now, I don't buy that he is a good one but I think he is average.
