Thank God we held on but that was terrible managing. It may well cost us later this week too if Kimbrel is tired or cannot be used because of tonight.

Who took out Santana and put those guys in there?

I don't necessarily agree with taking out Santana. He was pitching great and was under 90 pitches. This was his first start of the season and I can understand the rationale behind taking him out. I don't think anyone here was expecting Walden and Kimbrel to let the Mets score three runs.

Again, you have to trust your pitchers to make pitches and get outs.

Sure, but how the manager uses them comes into play too. Having two guys warm up in the 8th, and using a third pitcher instead is just inexcusable.

Yes, it does. But, as I said on page 9, I believe how they were used in this situation was correct. You don't push Santana more than you have to when he didn't get nearly as much work this spring, if you don't have to. A 4-0 should be safe, especially with our bullpen.

A win is a win!!!

And you Fredi haters will rip him no matter what he does, you've trained yourselves to do it. And it never gets old either.

But guess what? He's the manager, you aren't, and the Braves don't know you exist.

I won't post here anymore. You guys are entitled to your opinions and I'll admit Fredi isn't perfect, but constant criticism makes it not fun to take part in game threads. Too much personal stress in my life to read "Fredi is an idiot" every 2.5 seconds. Life is too short.

Braves win!!!!!

No Mossy. There are a few Fredi supporters here. :tchop:

I agree with taking Santana out. My issue is warming up Avilan and Carpenter in the eighth, and bringing in Walden instead.

Nope I'll applaud him when he deserves it. For instance, good job finally taking BJ out of two-spot. Wasn't working. He's also low maintenance and seems to be a good day-to-day guy in the clubhouse.

But we shouldn't stop criticizing him for bad moves, either. It isn't personal. It's part of what fans do, and it's part of these game threads - to discuss in-game decisions.

Lemme preface this by sayin' ah don't like the Fredster much.......but how in the hell do all y'all know he took Santana out? Ah mean Santana may have took hisownself out, said "Boss, mah dick is draggin' in the dirt, let somebody else finish this thang." Now usin' CK was entirely effin' stupid.

What was this ..Santana's 2nd start all year including ST?

Should've figured people would be bitching here

Bottom line? On a night when a starter went 8 shutout innings with a four-run lead, we warmed up/used four relievers.
