GDT 8/6/2021 Braves vs. Gnats - We’re Going Streaking!!!

I agree. Just recalling where the idea of 100 came from.
Oh I knew where you were coming from. I love our prospects but I loathe "hitting this and that." Lol. Enscheff and a few others as I recall helped reinforce that notion when sitting in the stadium for one of Newks earlier games in which he hit 100 like 6/7 pitches out of 10, people were beside themselves about it. Lol. Now Strider and Diaz..legit sit mid to high 90's. Strider had hit 97 late in games.

I have been a critic of AA, but definitely give him props for trading away few future value prospects and while being handicapped, adding decent pieces especially at this deadline. The further removed from Coppy the Braves get, I think the sky is the limit and I think AA continues to solidify the system and mlb team.

Any links? I could use a laugh.

The guy you want to listen to is Steve Somers. WFAN.

He's actually pretty good. But the people who call in are pretty special in terms of how sad they get each off-season talking about what a disaster the Metropolitans were in the past season. Always warms my heart. You have no idea how much damage the Braves have done to the psyche of Metropolitans fans the past few years. We've crushed them in extremely painful ways. Something that gives me great pleasure.

On this we can agree.

AA is a genius. Turned a potential dud season around to where with all the reinforcements coming you could squint hard and see us winning the whole thing.

They may win the division or they may not. They certainly aren’t going to win the whole thing.

Remember a long time ago when everyone was calling for AA to be fired?

Wait…that was only a week ago? And now everyone is calling him an amazing GM?

The fickleness around here is comedic.
Lmao...I wasn't in the firing bunch and I'm still a critic but he has done some good. When its not good...it's not. I still think he hasn't found the fine line between 'Trader Toronto AA' and 'Squeeze his butt cheeks in Atlanta AA'.

I am sure no one wanted him fired. There was some legitimate signs he wasn't going to sell which led to wild speculations of either going big or just standing pat. Both would have been bad moves. He choose the correct path in building a better ball club that appeases the fans and didn’t really hurt the farm. I ate my crow and praised his moves. But I never thought he should be fired. Just not blindly trusted because he graduated from the university of the Dodger$.

All Braves fans were worried for sure. That's one thing about having a GM who keeps things close to the chest, and a handful of useless "beat reporters". If the Braves can somehow come back to win their 4th division in a row, he has to be in consideration for Executive of the Year.

It was always about him letting snit run wild with dumb decisions. This problem seems to have been solved a little also

Downside is Snit is here for the long-term. Although I think he got a talking to. Last couple of games he seems to be making better decisions.

As much as I hate Snits tactical decisions 95% of the time, there is no denying he is good at all other aspects of managing professional athletes. The last thing this team needs is a Kapler situation where he does some super analytics driven moves, and then loses the clubhouse when they don’t work out.

So I guess that means we just sit here and bitch about a managers moves, just like all fans of all teams.

If we can make it through this year, the DH will eliminate a lot of those decisions, make it easier to use guys for 1 1/3, etc.

It also helps a manager when the starting pitching is better. Fried rounding into form has been huge for the team.

Mustachioed Maximus has certain talismanic qualities. Will be important now that Panda is gone.

Braves fans on this board are unique in exactly what way? Go to any message board of any team or any sport and you'll see exactly the same thing. Human Nature 101

He is a golden god.

Can we never talk about "playoff odds" again?
