GDT 8/6: Mr. Charlie and the great fire of Chicago

Charlie Morton's last 4 starts:

17.2 innings, 22 hits, 15 runs, 15 walks, 17 Ks

He's hitting a wall. This is why I wanted a SP at the deadline

My only frustration with this team is how consistently they give up leads. They often fight back and get the win, but it’s been frustrating at times. But in the end, this team is stout. they just need to work on some small things

Our baserunning has become an issue. I think it was two years ago that we had a great balance of aggressive but smart baserunning. At some point, the culture of our baserunning has evolved from aggressive to just stupid. It feels shocking how often we get thrown out on the base paths.

I'd borderline say its at a point that an intervention is actually needed. It feels like this is morphing into something that is absolutely going to prove costly in the playoffs.

It may need to start with Wash. He was phenomenal a few years ago but it feels like he's gone from aggressive to just being a gambler.

Doesn’t help we are playing all these average ass teams when they’re playing their best all season on the fckn road. Same **** with cinci

My only concern for the braves is they don't value resting guys. We got that SS, and haven't played him once. No one ever gets a day off. We have a big lead and Morton is an older guy, why not IL him for a little break? We should do the same for strider. I feel like the braves will pretty much start doing breaks for guys in late September, and then they won't be able to turn it on again
