BTW, is anyone criticizing the TLS trade anymore? That has to be a major win at this point to the Hart ledger right?

Not sure how fans could not be won over by Nick the stick yet. So happy this guy is going to be part of the team the next three years. No, he may never be a really good player again but his approach to the game is something that I would want our young players to emulate.

Markakis is the epitome of a professional player, especially at the plate. The problems are his slow-footedness and lack of power. The lack of power may correct itself in upcoming years but the lack of footspeed isn't going to change. Defensively he'll make the plays he's supposed to make but he's definitely not a difference maker in the field.

All that said, I'm glad he'll be a Brave for the next few years. Look at the reception he got from the fans in Baltimore and it speaks volumes.

I love having his bat in the lineup with freeman. Yes we need more bats but it all goes back to having guys that can make contact and put the ball in play. Which again is why I'd like to see AJ back. Not exactly to be a starter but as the back up

Yeah. That one has worked out very well for us. And we made some signings with the international slot money that look promising.

I think the slot money and draft picks acquired in all these trades seem to get overlooked. Its not just on an individual trade basis that those pieces needs to be looked at. The aggregation of all these moves has resulted in a lot of nice players.

Good questions. It would also seem like Ciriaco and Castro might be likely candidates to come off the roster, depending on Simmons health.

I'm guessing he's here for the duration now. Joey T. and Cunningham would be my guess of who goes out tomorrow, but it could be Eury Perez.

What you think the lineup will be when everyone is healthy?

Bourn -- LF/cf

Maybin -- LF/cf

FF -- 1b

Olivera -- 3b

Markakis -- rf

AJ -- c

Peterson -- 2b

Simmons -- ss

I think that team allows us to also build a deep bench where we can have many interchangeable parts. Keep guys healthy over the course of the season.
