GDT 8/7/22: Braves @ Mutts - Series Finale

DeGrom isn't natural. No one gains velocity year after year in their late 20s and early 30s. At age 28, his fastball averaged 94 mph. He's gained over 5 mph on it since then.

If you say so; it sure didn't seem like it. I wonder what the scorecard said about Alonso touching home plate?

Of course it didn’t look that way to a biased fan…

On a board where half the posters foam at the mouth during a game

During these long periods off, he's juicing. When it's out of his system, he returns

Ok, maybe not, but I do think he's juiced sometime in that span

I mean, there are things you can do to improve velocity. deGrom probably always had this arm talent laying dormant. He just had to unlock it. Look at Charlie Morton.

The only way deGrom could be better is if he were wearing an Atlanta uniform.

PS Crap third strike call to end the inning. CB gonna CB...

Who is another example of guy gaining that much velocity in their 30s?

Strider isn’t giving up a run today….The Mets know it….Their game plan is to get him out and off rhythm as possible.

You see guys unlock some velocity at times but it's usually all at once. A mechanical change or something unlocks it. Degrom has added about a mph a year consistently since he turned 28. I don't know how he's doing it but steady increases in velocity don't happen at that age. At best he's made some kind of deal with a demon at a cross roads.

I’m so sick of mlb giving the ump dead balls when the Braves bat and live balls when the Mets bat.

I’m so sick of the replay officials always making calls in favor of the Mets over the Braves.

I’m so sick of the umps making calls to ruin the Braves chances.

I’m so sick of the shadows creeping up when the Braves bag and then vanishing when the Mets bat.

I’m so sick of mlb shining lights in the eyes of Braves fielders to cause errors.

Did I miss any of the reasons the Braves have lost a few games?
