GDT- 8/8/18- Night of the FOLTY

Acuna, even through some down games at the plate still, has been much better since he altered his swing some. He has a .991 OPS since the all star break.
Soto is still somehow topping that.
Like I’ve said though, I seriously think we need to just move on from that. If Acuna keeps going even what he is doing isn’t normal for his age. We need to celebrate and appreciate that and not get mad because a guy is absolutely destroying all precedents even for the top 19 to 20 year old seasons in baseball.
The good thing though is, if there’s more growth for Soto, he becomes a DH in 5 to 6 years and you probably have to sell high if the DH doesn’t come to the NL. That said, he’ll play as a DH even from then with the tools he’s shown at the plate for an incredibly long time.

That was one of the better games this year. The Nats offense is relentless right now, but we managed to hold them off with timely outs.

A couple things:
The Braves are back to .500 in the real second half (15-15)

The Braves already have more wins against the NL East than last season, and are only 3 wins from having a winning record against the division, with 22 games to play. They a re currently on pace for 50 wins in the division, which hasn't been done by the Braves since 2004. 2004 is the only time the Braves won 50 games against any division in the divisional game era.
