GDT: 8/9/'14, Braves (Harang) vs. Nationals, 7:10 EST Bonny playing SS-

10:50 first pitch time

Just saw that. So a 3.5 hour delay is preferred over a postponement and doubleheader? Kind of odd to me that a game that was originally scheduled to start at 7:10 can kept getting rain delayed until 10:50 and it be ok. At least we didn't waste a starter because the game lasted 1-3 innings before the 3.5 hour rain delay.

All right MLB, it's been two and a half hours. Can we just call this one and give us the win?

Here, I'll fill you in on the details:

Braves win, 5-3. Aaron Harang gives up three runs and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings. Freeman goes 2-4 with three RBI, including a two-run home run and an RBI groundout in the bottom of the seventh to score the Braves' final run. Tanner Roark surrenders five runs in six innings of work, though one of them is unearned thanks to an Asdrubal Cabrera error. BJ goes 0-3 with a walk and a run scored, Justin 1-4 with a double. Gattis with a sacrifice fly.

Russell throws 2/3 of an inning with a single allowed, Walden a scoreless eighth and Kimbrel a scoreless ninth, though with two walks.

There, I just saved us all a long night.

Sounds good

Seriously...get this **** started. I'm used to spending 7:00ish to 10:00ish a nervous wreck. Not 11:00-2:00 in the f***ing morning. Not sure I'm prepared to handle this.

It will be ok...
Hey, this late into a Saturday night I'm already at least five deep and counting. Turns out, when you're bored waiting for the game to start, you end up drinking about or almost as much as when you're watching a stressful and/or really frustrating game.

He's the best defensive RF in baseball, folks.

If Doumit's out there like in the Dodgers series that maybe goes all the way to the wall. It would've certainly been first and third at best with only one out. That is why Heyward is so key for us. But so is Simmons on the infield, esp. with CJ playing third and having no range.

It's always good to see BJ striking out while leading off.

And apparently we may get more rain in Atlanta around midnight. Why not play DH...

It's insane that BJ is still leading off, we won last night but we won't make the playoffs if that continues. We might not anyway now but having him lead off only makes that less likely because you have your worst hitter getting too many AB's, etc.

Plus you have too many situations like this one, Freeman hitting a double but with two outs. Hopefully Justin does it again with two outs like yesterday regardless.
