That one pitch was crushed though and the first hitter he faced was a specialist that for his career only hits lefties (a lefty killer that struggles vs righties). Plus Span hit a rocket that Heyward got a good read and made look easy.

A back-up that isn't hitting much gets walked to face BJ who starts and bats leadoff for us. That is telling but what does Fredi say? "BJ is my guy"!

That's about as blatant of a, "Hey...you're doing it wrong!" to Fredi as it gets. When a team is intentionally walking Ramiro Pena to get to your leadoff hitter, something is wrong.
