GDT 811/14: Braves (Teheran) vs. Dodgers (Correia). NO KERSHAW SERIES!

Also, I believe fans can get disinterested based on the current mix of players. I still follow minor league boxscores every night and will watch the occasional game but there is just something different about the team this year and I don't really like watching.

When we field our full lineup, it's not that disinteresting (even with BJ in there, just for the entertainment value of him K'ing and reading it here, and then him getting the occasional hit and reading it on here). Even with all the K's and DP's, frustrating yes but we still have an exciting team.

This team is frustrating to watch, but I love when Harang somehow pulls a rabbit out of the hat and reading it on here...

And I agree with keithlaw, makes absolutely no sense that people here keep telling us how much they don't care or watch this team, every night we lose.

It isn't about their shot at postseason. They continue to do the same dumb **** night in, night out and show no willingness to correct it.

That's kind of a stretch. These are pro baseball players. I know it irks them when they make errors, and continue to make errors. Doesn't mean they aren't trying to correct it. Everyone knows despite the fact he's sucked, BJ has spent more time in the batting cages then most guys on the team trying to get it straightened out but it's just not working.

LaStella has a great work ethic, and when he makes an error, I highly doubt he's ok with it and unwilling to get better.

You're seeing the growing pains of this team. Tons of potential everywhere, just not answering the bell.

Granted. But I'm more talking about things like refusing to work the count when you're behind late and need baserunners. Things that can be fixed by being more mentally disciplined. They're young, but they're professionals. They didn't just start playing baseball. And for God's sake, quit using a lefty reliever who is bad against them just for the sake of lefty-lefty. If you're worried about that, then damnit, get another one on the roster. Problems up and down the team. We won with a young team last year and the year before.

This game is about results. It's the middle of August, and it's been the same things every game for most of the season.

It's amazing to hear people say that they don't care about this team anymore. Yeah, this season has been a downer for the most part, but you can bet that I still care about them and hope they turn it around even when it doesn't look promising. I mean, it's not like we're in the cellar with no chance to make the playoffs.

It's been a really frustrating season, one of the most I can remember in awhile. Underperforming across the board, bad decisions by our manager, constantly failing to come up in clutch situations, it just all adds up.

I like proving those superior baseball minds wrong.

When it comes to baseball, you're not the brightest.

You predicted our gloom all year last year as well, and I'm sure the year before. Eventually, you're bound to be right.

But I still expect us to grab a WC spot. But I'm happy to know you'll be thrilled if I'm wrong.

That's swell.

Braves, when Dan Uggla starts: 21-12
Braves, when Dan Uggla is on the bench: 32-31
Braves, without Dan Uggla on the roster: 7-15

Uggla, Huddy, Mac, Chipper, Prado, Medlen. These are guys I would say were probably the biggest clubhouse leaders over the last few years and well, they're either gone or not playing. It's not surprising to see these guys struggle when the going gets tough. Did Uggla suck? Yes, but he was vocal and a good leader. Huddy wanted a bit more money than we wanted but we should of paid it, simple as that. Mac's leaving had to happen, Chipper wanted to retire and I fully in endorse the Prado/JUP-CJoh deal. It's baseball and sometimes it's frustrating. Hopefully Meds is all of a sudden healthy next year. haha
