It's hard to beat a home team, but to beat a home team and the PLATE UMP who must have attended the Bucknor School of Umpiring is very impressive.
 
I think MM threw at least three strikes to Hernandez called balls, his first cutter to Franco was a nice pitch on the corner called a ball too. That umpire was bent on causing a blown save but we still won somehow.
 
We need to go 9-6, a .600 win percentage, to win 100 games. The magic number is also 9, which is 60% of our remaining games. Clearly not a coincidence. The Nats will only lose one game the rest of the way, and we have to win 100 to stay ahead of them.
