That lineup is murderers row when healthy, especially with Duvall looking like Cincy Duvall, Riley looking good, and Albies back.

Albies will pretty quickly move up as guys like Duvall and Riley regress. It will be especially useful to put his LH bat somewhere in that TDA and Swanson portion. Grouping all those RHH together In the middle and then the LHH at the end is a little silly, even for snit.

Cole Hamels threw three simulated innings (43 pitches) at the #Braves alternate site Friday and reports were all positive, manager Brian Snitker said. He will likely be activated to start next week on the road against the Orioles or Mets. (1/2)

more Hamels: Friday was just the second time the lefty faced hitters this year, after missing all of spring training, summer camp and the season's first seven weeks due to arm injuries. (2/2)

Peter Gammons:

Cole Hamels had a strong 3 inning outing at the Braves' Gwinnett Alternate site today. He and Max Fried will be back next week, Mike Foltynewicz is back to 95 MPH w/ good slider and if all goes well Sunday, will be back next week as well.

So there is a good chance we could have a starting rotation next week of Fried, Anderson, Hamels, Tomlin and some smelly turd. Well that would be nice.

Just saw the Folty news. Holy crap this could be Yuge if true.

Folty/Fried/Hamels/Anderson/Tomlin sounds amazing given the turds we've been trotting out.

Goals for the final 2.5 weeks:

-- Hold off Phillies/Marlins for the division
-- Hold off Cubs for the two-seed
-- Cobble together something resembling a rotation for the playoffs

Getting Fried healthy, ensuring the bottom doesn't fall out for Anderson, and getting reps for Hamels would go a long way towards all three of those, but especially the latter. Would be nice, too, for one of Wright, Wilson, or Toussaint to step up—since I think Tomlin's much better served in a relief role.

The fact that someone is straight up saying Folty is throwing 95 with a good slider is incredible

I hope this all works out as Gammons lays it out.

If it does, the next start or two Tomlin and Wright (and to a lesser extent Anderson) should be pretty germane to seeing how they're going to shuffle the rotation for the last two weeks or so.
