GDT 9/12/14 ATL @ TEX 8:05 EDT

Gotta agree with wupk and VB, talent trumps all.

Nats keep winning and Matt Williams isnt all that great of a manager yet they win because they out-talent every team mostly.

Stick a fork in em. 2014 season down the toilet. Nearly this same offense was 4th in runs scored last year, what happened.

We are allergic to the big hit at the most critical times. Our best hitters, Justin and Freddie, keep on failing in big spots here in the last week or so. No Mac. Gattis off and on. Heyward sucks against lefties. CJ is back down to Earth. Simmons has fallen off the face of the Earth, offensively. BJ Upton is an ass-clown. And the bench is horrible.

Teheran has been nothing short of very good this year. His record looks so average, but this team is allergic to hitting with him on the mound. Well, just about anybody on the mound.

Looks like a power outage. We had 5 hit 20 homers last year and Freeman needs 2 homers to make 3 this year. Uggla was surprisingly good in first half 2013, 18 homers in 1 half with a .315 OBP despite hitting .200. Andrelton is down 10 homers. McCann and Gattis each hit 20 homers playing mostly catcher. Heywood down 3 homers despite 200 extra at bats.

That and the lesser bullpen have ruined our record in close games.

Shae Simmons' s injury was a big blow. He was more reliable than Kimbrel before the last few outings before he went on the DL. I think it made as much as a 3 game difference.

This series had made ignoring the rest of the season easy. I can appreciate effort, however futile, but I can ignore lack of effort. Hope the stands resemble a Georgia state football crowd the rest of the year. That would be a message.

Less ticket sales equal lower payroll. They can turn this team into a low payroll team that turns a great profit at any time. I think if we go thru some top 10 draft pick seasons in a row attendance/payroll will drop like a rock and it will be that much harder to field a winning team.

They will soon be moving to a new stadium. Attendance will spike then. I don't see them building a **** team in preparation.

I can't really think of many reasons to watch anymore. Been waiting for several months for things to turn around, and they just haven't. I can't see how they will in the final 14 games.

IMO, his injury was a big pivot point in the season. God bless David Carpenter, but he gave more than one game away down the stretch. Ditto Varvaro, who was asked to pitch beyond his competence. When Simmons went down, it meant that we had one trustworthy reliever before Kimbrel.

Please stop it. Your obsession with Fredi goes beyond belief. Yes a player can make a manager look good but a manager can screw a team up also.
