GDT 9/18/13: Braves (Wood) @ Nationals (Ohlendorf) 7:10 PM

Huge turnaround. Thank you Alex Wood for standing up for this team. This team could take off just after that one moment.

Huge win.

Great job by CK.

Yesterday was just one of those games where he didn't have it, that happens.

Well, we didn't clinch in DC but by taking game three we at least hurt their WC hopes. If the Reds hold on against Houston this loss for the Nats will hurt a lot.

Good win, it's just a shame we didn't clinch in DC. I really rather clinch at home than Chicago, but I also want home field so.

Do we ban niners for one game for which offense?

1) Saying this game was over prematurely.

2) Saying a month ago we wouldn't win 90 games and that the Nationals were on their way.

Number 2. I can excuse tonight. We've been playing like ****.

With Heyward reportedly returning Monday, things are looking up for us to stay on track and make a run this October.

Look at it this way (and I didn't watch so correct me if I'm wrong):

The Nationals needed the freak occurrence of the best closer in baseball not having any command and the best defensive player in baseball to commit an error in the 9th to avoid losing the series.

Seriously, how many more games, over the duration of them being here together, will we lose with both Kimbrel not being his usual self and Simmons committing an error in the same inning?

He is the key. His lack of love for baseball pushes the rest of the team.

I think every one else sees how much Heyward doesn't love baseball and it just pisses them off, making them play better to pick-up his slack in the intangibles categories of love, hustle, caring, giving a f***, etc.

To be fair, Kimbrel had no command.

I could tell early on, couldn't command his breaking ball.

Regards to Simmons, that's a freak thing and rarely, ever happens.

The collective mindset of the team is, if they just win the World Series, maybe, just maybe Jason will realize how wonderful baseball is. And, maybe, just maybe his heart will grow three sizes on that chilly October night.
