Why do we steal there? If you've come up playing or coaching little league through high school you know that a 1st and 3rd situation is a great time to steal. Throwing down to 2nd base often results in free runs, so many catchers won't even make the throw (risk/reward). Catchers are better in the pros, so not as frequently take advantage of. Still, same thought process is present. Plus, Freddie frequently catches pitchers off guard. Aggressive play applies pressure to defense to be sharp.
