GDT 9/2/22: Braves vs Fish - A Start for Ozuna

Dodgers are not as good as they were last year.

It will be Mets or Braves to decide who gets to play the Astros. I like our chances.

Really wonder where Grissom is going to end up in K/BB% as he gets 300 PA's under his belt.

Right now his plate discipline is ok against mlb average (unweighted & players with over 200 AB's) considering age and experience.

Expands his zone too much (16% more than average with a 11% LESS contact than average) and is super aggressive in general (10% more swings) but he is getting strikes thrown to him (16% more in the zone).

It will be interesting to see what happens when pitchers throw less in the zone if he can reduce that chase percentage.

Meanwhile - Harris LOVE to swing and is about 30% more likely to swing outside the zone than mlb hitters.

Thats got to change or else he may be exposed soon.

I was completely unaware that TDA was having his best season ever. That extention is looking better and better. Probably going to have some catching/DH duo with Contreras for the next two years. Amazing.

Man as frustrating as the first two with Col. these last two games have been the most enjoyable on the same scale.

I think one of the Mets/Braves/Dodgers will win the whole thing this year. 3 great teams imo.

So, is soroka done at AAA? Seems like a good 1st start would be vs Oakland

I think he gets another AAA start. Maybe comes up when Ozzie is ready. But I could be wrong. It will be interesting what they do with him. 70 pitch limit on a start or try him coming out of the pen some.

This is most interesting. Why are we giving Odor a break. He won’t be starting in the playoffs. Wonder if this is an opener type thing and then bringing in Odor.

It just pushes everyone back a day. I doubt we skip odor the following game. This was always the path to keep strider/Wright fresh as possible.

We have Soroka who can do that too. I still think this is basically getting Odor ready for his new position with the team. Pen guy.

I'm not against giving Soroka another start or two in AAA. Put him in situations where the game doesn't matter so you can 'control' his rehab back. If Soroka is Soroka he doesn't need multiple starts at the big league level to be effective come playoffs.

I think you give Soroka 2 more starts in AAA and bring him up to start the first game against the Nationals. Ease his way in with a game against a lesser offense.
