GDT 9/20/13: Braves (Maholm) @ Cubs (Baker) 2:20 PM - HEYWARD BACK!!!

If this lead holds up I'll actually be cheering for the Nats tonight, that will be a first and hopefully only time. I want us to clinch tomorrow on the field with a victory rather than wait for a Nats loss much later in day. Plus tomorrow's game is on national tv (WGN) and my friend in N.C. will get to watch it.

Screw that. I want the Nats to suffer and not have a hope at the playoffs.

The Nats are already suffering and going to suffer more when the Reds clinch. The Nats winning tonight will only cost us a shot at clinching on the field, nothing more. No way Nats catch Reds now given their remaining schedule includes the Cardinals.

That's the problem I have with Johnson hitting 6th. You've basically got nobody with a legit shot of getting him over or in coming up. And obviously he has one of the highest OBP on our team.

No reason at all for him not to switch with Gattis.

Of course, Paul has something to say about all that...

That's why I prefer him hitting either 4th or 5th. If he gets a BABIP, it's gonna be with the top of the order on base, let Gattis swing for the fences with people on.

Thanks Maholm for making me look like an idiot :tchop:

I would have it as JHey, JUp, FF, Mac, CJ, Gattis, Simmons, Uggla/EJ.

No way Gattis should be 4th ahead of Mac.

Fredi worries too much about going left-right-left concerning the line-up. Mac should be hitting clean-up IMO.

LoL!! I laugh at this reference every time. Was there a particular poster or a few who were actually worried about that?

Its a response to the fans that have been swinging from the nats nuts all season. They continally predict the braves to go on losing streaks and everytime the nats win more than 2 games in a row they say yhey are going to go in a roll and pass the braves. One poster said the nats would pass the braves by the all star break when we had a 6 game lead with 2 weeks till the break. Thete was the infamous "next 7 games" thread where a negatron said we had little to no chance in those games and those were the first 7 wins in the 13 game winning streak. When Heyward went down another that we would finiah with 88 wins. We are now at 90 wins with 10 to play. Even going into the last nats series there were negatrons who thought the nats could ein the division.

Does that including playoffs or just regular season?

Interesting.

No idea.

I know MLB.TV and Extra Innings are marketed as the source for out of market games. Not sure if that will be true since all playoff games will be available on cable TV aside from the games on MLBNetwork which you need a sports package on your subscription to get.
