GDT 9/28/13: Phillies (Martin @ Braves (Minor) 7:10 PM

I mean are we really going to get bent out of shape at this after some of the things our players have done on the field with other teams?

Against another team is one thing. You HAVE to be able to see the difference here. If TP had grabbed Rollins, I wouldn't want him fired (though, oddly enough, he probably would be).

One could argue, the first 6-7 steps out of the box CJ was watching the ball and not going full hustle to 1st base.

He turned on the jets it appears after he realized Rollins made a great play to snag the ball deep on the grass.

He looked to see where the ball was, but he wasn't pulling a Jose Fernadez or anything.

The fact remains he should have been able to beat the throw, and you NEVER slide head first there. WHEN has it EVER made someone reach first base quicker? The only time it's remotely acceptable is when you're avoiding a tag on a high throw.

I think TP was one of the guys on the front lines next to Reed Johnson trying to fight when the Gomez thing happened the other night. I also think he was one of the first guys on hte front lines when the Harper thing happened too.

Dalyn just because jpx doesn't flirt with you anymore, and Julio decided since jpx stopped he wasn't going to continue the circle jerking, doesn't mean you have to get mad at TP for jacking up CJ and call for his immediate dismissal.

 As if my day wasn't bad enough.

CJ is an emotional guy and this was not the first time he's thrown a helmet that hit or nearly hit someone. That's what fueled TP's anger

The point is it was high emotions, and he let it get the worst of him. I'm sure they've talked it out and are fine now. If the cameras weren't focused on the dugout, we wouldn't even be talking about it.

He grabbed him and shoved him and went after him again before the video ended. Damn right I am serious.
And what's so out of line about that? These are big, tough guys who don't get their feelings hurt so easily. CJ knows Pendleton loves him. Medlen's probaby already spoofin' it in the clubhouse.

On the brightside, since it looks like we'll be playing the Dodgers, we're pretty much guaranteed to have the primetime game every night. Not gonna be a huge fan of staying up for the 9-10 o clock games on the West Coast though.

Braves-Dodgers is going to bring in more ratings than a Cardinals-Pirates/Reds matchup. The Yasiel Puig's first playoff series hype expected from ESPN should be more than enough to make TBS put us on the primetime game everyday.

CJ is pretty emotional. Did anyone see how pissed off he was the other night when Medlen poured water on him when everyone was piling on Andrelton for hitting the GW hit?

I thought that was pretty hilarious, CJ was extremely pissed off that Meds poured water on him.

Some of y'all crack me up, this talk of firing TP or trading CJ (though more the former) is silly. So TP got in his face over something, big deal it happens. We shouldn't be concerned about that non-issue. We should be concerned about likely facing Kershaw and company in the first round. The MLB media have been saying all year we cannot beat number ones and unless the Cubs surprise tomorrow. Then we're locked into facing the best, that will be a tough test for us (or any team for that matter).

Tomorrow has not happened yet. At least we have homefield aganst LA. This team has answered the bell all year. Even if tomorrow doesn't go our way, we are making at least an NLCS appearence. Book it!!!

Everyone is in here praising the Dodgers, well they just lost again, this time 1-0 at home against the Rockies and managed only 3 hits against Juan Nicasio (and his 5+ ERA) and Rockies crap bullpen. They've been just as bad if not worse than us this month.

I'm so excited about seeing us get shutdown and demolished by Greinke in Game 2, that I just sent my boss a text at 12:50 AM that I needed next Friday off.

COME ON GREINKE!!!

As if anything said on this message board matters jack squat to the Atlanta Braves. Worst case scenario, they lose in the first round and spend the offseason getting over it with their money and privileges...

That being said, if there were even the slightest possibility that fans could affect an outcome, some of us don't deserve them to win a playoff series much less the Workd Series with the way we act. Hate each other, speak the "truth", tear down the team you supposedly cheer for: it all just shows a complete lack of faith in the team.

Being a realist? NOTHING we do affects this game so watching these games is not real!! These players don't give 1% of a thought about us as much as we give about them. So, please stop the insane comments and find some faith because the 'reality' is we can actually do nothing BUT hope.
