GDT 9/3/21: Braves (Ynoa) @ Rockies (Senzatela) - 8:40 PM

The Rockies got 27 outs in 94 pitches. I always joke about not trying, but that’s exactly what happened. The team’s head wasn’t there for whatever reason.

Just ****ty…

The “leader” of this team is going through one of his head scratching slumps that ALWAYS comes at the worst times…he’s hitting like dick but was out there sucking every dodger blue dick that was standing on 1B…

They got mowed down by a fckn scrub tonighy for 7 innings….period…They better huddle the Fck up and get **** together.

People seriously ****ting on Freeman?

Of course. FF is a great player, and people expect him to be great vs the best. Here's his numbers vs Yankees, giants, dodgers, Rockies x2: .220/.238/.341, 2.4 bb%, 52 wRC+, .249 wOBA.

It's totally unfair to expect a player to not struggle, but FF always seem to struggle vs the good teams. If frustrating bc he is so damn good

Lmao. Wow. Rosario earning himself a short vacation to the bench.

I missed the excitement. I was following along on Gameday while watching a bad movie and with the Braves deciding to swing at everything, I checked in and the game was already over.

As per Rosario, I know a lot of folks were giddy when we picked him up and the cost was minimal, so it's no big deal. But I warned folks--as someone who has seen plenty of him up in the frozen Northland--that Rosario ranks extremely low in baseball intelligence so be prepared for a head-scratcher or two (or three or four or . . .).

PS--Why did Snitker send Ynoa out for the 6th?

Probably because Ynoa only had 67 pitches or so at that point. It was clearly a mistake and was a mistake from the get-go. You don't let Ynoa face a lineup for the 3rd time though -- especially one of Colorado's ability in their home park.

I thought it might be something like that. I think pitch count can enter into the equation, but not for a young pitcher like Ynoa and not in a hitters' paradise like Colorado. Ynoa appears to be an efficient pitcher, but if you're around the zone in a Colorado, it can be trouble.

Leaving Ynoa in for the bottom of the 6th was defensible. He had a low pitch count, and didn’t bat in the top of the sixth. I understand folks who wanted him out, but it’s not like it was one of those double whammy decisions by snit that screwed the offense and the defense with one awful choice.

Remember a week or so ago when everyone was super happy I wrote that the team would go through a rough stretch and maybe everyone should avoid freaking out? Well, this is that stretch, and everyone should avoid freaking out.

This was a good-not-great team that was getting some good luck a couple weeks ago. Now they are a good-not-great team minus that luck.

Eh..I don't think it's so much a freak out as it is frustration with some winnable games. I agree though...a freak out is probably non productive at this point, but never underestimate Braves Country...we've got it perfected.
