What's sad is even when this team was bad we had better GDTs than this, the management of this team is embarrassing and if Fredi isn't canned at the end of the season everyone but McDowell should be shipped out. WE have no hope, and it doesn't look the players believe it either.

And it only took reply to get to wallowing in self pity. What's sad is the Nats fans think more of the braves than braves fans do.

I think the world of the Braves. We have a fantastic core of players in Jason, Freeman, Justin, Gattis, Simmons, Julio, Wood, Minor, and Kimbrel. We have an idiot for a manager who has put our 2 worst hitters (simmons and BJ) at our 2 most important offensive positions (batting first and second) I mean how long it took him to bat Jason leadoff was embarrassing. Instead we batted him 5th so BJ could try his hand at leading off.

Heyward not at leadoff all year isnt the SOLE reason we're inconsistent as hell.

Nearly every fan base thinks their manager is the worst. If you think the next manager will be competent you are going to be highly disappointed. The Nats manager sucks too. This is the same **** as people who couldn't wait for Cox to retire. It's just an endless cycle of hate. Accept that we will likely never have a manager who manages how we want him to.

Perhaps, but we always won with Cox. The difference is gigantic. I know nothing really about Williams, haven't been really paying attention to him, but the Nats have been playing out their asses so his job is easy. Their lineup is filled with above average hitters. They have 3 hitters with 100+ PA, Espinosa, Lobaton, and Frandsen. Braves have 8. Nats whole lineup is better, their pitching is better. Is that cause of Williams? Probably not. But the truth is that the Braves are underperforming their expected wins, like the Nationals, that's usually indicative of a manager issue. Conversely the Giants are massively outperforming theirs, indicative of a good manager.

In fairness, once our team slid down to middle of the pack in payroll Bobby only made the playoffs twice (2005 and 2010).

We had a payroll crunch after 2003. Our payroll in 04 was the same at 06. And we sucked because our pitching started sucking, and then our youth system didn't really can out. Only Mac and KJ wound up doing anything from the Baby Braves. We coincidentally got good when the new wave of young pitching started and Jason came up to get the lineup younger.

Let's compare ourselves to the Brewers and Giants.

In terms of name players Braves have all the guys I listed above, Jason, Justin, Freddie, Gattis, Simmons, Wood, Minor, Julio, Kimbrel, and Santana. Brewers have LuCroy, Gomez, Aramis, Davis, Garza, Lohse, and Gallardo. Giants have Pence, Posey, Sandoval, Bumgarner, and Hudson. We should be killing them both. Should being the operative word.

Wood has such a bright future. Please let us have a pitcher that defies the odds of injury thats this good.
