man, I wonder what is going on. He said he was fine and wouldn't miss another start. I wonder if this is the Mets just being super careful and making sure he is ready in the playoffs or if this is a lot more serious.

It was a pretty good chance the Braves were better than the Mets overall, but the lead was simply too great to overcome.

The Braves didn't seems to care about projected wins.

I agree, the division is nice, but him being as close to 100% as possible on Oct 6th is much more important than pushing him to win the division that is no gaurantee.

That being said. Getting the #2 seed is a huge boost for the playoffs.

Its a nice little addition but will still have to beat both Mets/Dodgers (most likely) to get back to WS.

While likely true. I'd rather have Fried and Strider ready for games 1 and 2 of the NLDS

Awesome win last night despite everything. It feels like a moral victory to at least chase the Mets down and have a share of the lead, even if it's for just one day. Of course, I hope the trend continues and we take the division!

Meanwhile, the magic number for making the playoffs is now 14. The Brewers blew a 6-1 lead in the 8th to the Rockies and lost in extras.

62-24 since June 1st! The Mets are a respectable 51-34 in the same time-frame.

Save a couple guys (Michael Harris, Ronald Acuna, Spencer Strider, Vaughn Grissom, and Rasiel Iglesias) this is the same team that won the World Series last year.
