GDT 9-7 MAD MAX Brings the FLY SWATTER

Matzek could literally throw nothing but his 98 mph fastball to these guys and get outs. Instead, he ****s around.
 
That’s another recurring outcome for our pitching staff. Whenever an opposing player fouls a ball off himself in a painful spot, he’s guaranteed to get a hit later in the AB.
 
That’s unbelievably bad pitching by Matzek. That’s exactly why you don’t mess around with Thomas and Escobar. ATTACK. When he attacks, not a single Nationals hitter aside from Juan Soto is good enough to hit him.
 
I’m stunned. That’s some of the worst pitching of Matzek’s career and he did it against one of the worst lineups in the game. You just cannot you toy with hitters. No idea why he wasn’t attacking but he didn’t take it seriously.
