GDT 9/7: Schwelley and, “Lineups I couldn’t imagine in April for 1,000 Alex”

Bullpen and defense. SS only allowed 3 ER. This felt like a mail in game for Snit and i hate when he does that. You cant mail in $hit at this point.

Mets are now only a half game behind the Dbacks. I still think us and the Mets make the playoffs.

I hope so, but 7 games vs dodgers and Mets are problematic. They can score, and we can't

The Dbacks have a tougher schedule than us. It’s probably gonna come down to the Mets series at the end. That McNeil injury is gonna hurt them. We need RH Ozzie back.

Diamondbacks have Brewers twice, with the Rockies sandwiched in, and then finish up with SF and SD. CO and 1 series of of Milw will be on the road. They also don't get an off day between now and the end of the SF series, which is tough considering the road trip. They seem to be fading a bit as they are 6-8 in the last 2 weeks. Great hitting team, but their SP is mostly hot garbage.

Padres have Giants, Astros, ChiSox, LAD, and AZ. 10 games at home and 6 at home. But they don't really leave the west at all, so it isn't much of a factor. Really tough schedule to close out the year, but I do think they are the best overall team of the wild card teams. Tough lineup, very good top 3 SP, and a great BP. And before his last start, Musgrove had been red hot for them since coming off the IL.

Mets have Phillies twice, with the Nationals sandwiched in, and then Atl and Milwaukee to finish the year. Brutal schedule against the 3 best pitching teams in the NL, with 9 of these games being played on the road. I do believe the Mets have best record in baseball since since the start of June, so they aren't a fluke. Despite that, their pitching seems mediocre, both SP and BP. Can their offense sustain them and their pitching keep it together for 3 more weeks? I guess we'll see.

We have the easiest remaining schedule, but we're starting retreads or AAAA players at 3 different spots. And Arcia is an issue too, though not entirely the SVOD he was during May and June (but he's been awful in Sept so far). Our elite pitching is holding us together, but even that is starting to crack. Hopefully Olson remains hot and Harris can build off last night and get back to what he was for the final 3.5 months of 2023. And obviously, we need to get Albies back ASAP. Even if he isn't tearing the cover off the ball, he's 100 times better than Luke Williams.

I'm starting to think Ozzie won't be back this year, and if he is, it'll be for maybe a week. Same with Riley.
