GDT - August 7th, 2018 - Game 1 of 2 - 1:05 @ Nationals

As much as I didn't like seeing Fried at 92-93 with the flat FA out there, I like the thought of Allard at 89-90 out there even less.

Maybe we see the "good" Allard today.

If he sucks at least his apologists have the "he's not used to coming out of the BP" excuse teed up for them after they got to use the "it was raining" excuse last time.

You are trolling with the best of them today. Criticizing posters for what you think they will say without even waiting for them to say it.

If the ball didn't hit the wall that was an amazing play. I'm sure we'll have to wait through five minutes of replay to find out.

Want to bet the "he isn't used to coming out of the BP" excuse isn't used if Allard struggles?

Name your stakes

He’s out bc he passed Turner on the paths, not bc he caught it?

Whatever- but someone was out, bc he caught it

So Soto passed Turner on the bases even though he wasn’t an actual base runner at that point, according to the umps’ initial ruling?

So the point is moot. It's an out because Soto passed turner on the base paths, not that the catch was made.

Inciarte jumped up to catch the ball, the ball hit his glove about 6" from the top of the wall, the ball was knocked out of his glove , and Duvall ran over and caught the deflection.

The actual call ended up being that when Turner ran back to 1b, Soto was beyond him on the base path and called out.

Oddest play I've seen in a while.

so possibly hitting the wall was irrelevant at that point.
