pretty much. after 649 consecutive post season series defeats, it gets pretty hard to expect something different.

losing hudson was such a big blow for this team, just another in the long line we've seen over the years.

big names guys not really showing up is pretty typical for the braves too, right? but ****, all you need is your 8th inning guy to get three outs and you're golden. they couldn't do it.

it may be time to get new blood on the bench though, though we know that will never happen. at some point you should think that losing every single time wouldn't be accepted, but what do i know?

I believe that, you have to try it there. If Kimbrel gives up the lead, then at least you can say they beat your best, but the fact that Kimbrel didn't throw a pitch when you have the lead late in an elimination game is assinine.
 
Sickening way for the season to end. I feel terrible for Carpenter - he helped this team win many games this year, its just too bad he couldn't come through tonight. I am in full agreement with those that wanted Kimbrel for the 8th - this is the playoffs, not some game in August - gotta go with your best there and the Braves didnt

he knows we may not be back next year to correct Fredi's errors.Sometimes you only get one shot.

Still a great season by the team...they were two games better after losing Chipper.

Those who believe Kimbrel should have been used to get six outs are being ridiculous. Carpenter's been the guy there, and he just wasn't this time. Whoever called that pitched was stupid, and if he shook off a fastball to throw it he was stupid

Quite a 4 year run for the Braves. This is the least upset I've been after any of them, though. I'm not sure I want to keep watching baseball.
 
Our best pitcher throws 1 1/3 inning all series. Its been obvious since day 1 that Fredi Gonzalez is just not a good manager. Probably s hell of a guy but a terrible manager. The last 3 years have proven that. Losing home field cost our arses. We are the anti cardinals, lose every elimination game.

Actually he didn't and it would be stupid to do so anyway. And why call a slider on a slider speed bat. Not smart in either case.
 
I agree that it's pretty awful Kimbrel never came in. After the leadoff double I was waiting and waiting...

Fredi is from the Bobby school of managing. Never change. And so it goes.

The 8th inning is always the harder inning statistically, in an elimination game I want kimbrel in. hell just have kimbrel pitch the 8th.
