GDT: Braves @ Fish Game 162

It's actually a pretty brilliant move. If they win Game 1, and lose Game 2, he pitches Game 3. If they win Game 1 and Game 2, they'd have Jake and Max lined up for Game 1-2 in LA. Really win-win either way. Obviously if they lose Game 1, he pitches Game 2.

I think winning last year will remove a lot of stress and pressure on the boys as well. They have been there and done that and should have a lot of confidence in themselves…. Phillies / cards Mets not so much - dodgers, well that’s a different beast - but they know in the back of their minds - especially their 1B- what kind of guts we have and pink sword fighters we are.
They’ll be under more pressure than us for sure.
And then Astros ? Gonna be a bunch of “here we go again”

The power of the Coors Light and our elite message board membership - All the way from elite GDT construction at the top to Bouncing Emma at the bottom, with someone pounding Cy’s mom along the way - cannot be underestimated…..

Agreed, in terms of pressure to perform this post season, its probably something along the lines of:

1. Dodgers
2. Astros
3. Yankees
4. Mets
5. Padres
6. Braves

Your WC teams (outside of the Mets and Padres) and the Guardians can't realistically expect to be WS contenders when it is so top heavy. I put the Padres in that top 5 based on the amount of money and prospect capital they spent to get to where they are. The Mets with the amount of $$$ they have invested in their team. The Yankees for obvious reasons. And the Dodgers have only recently won the WS in the COVID shortened season, where we almost beat them in Game 7.

Dodgers don’t have a real title and everyone knows it. 60 game season? The marlins made the playoffs? No fans? Neutral site? No parade?

They have as many titles as your neighbors 12 year old little league team.

Agreed. Cy's mom relieves all the stress.

I was only stressed/nervous about three times in last year’s postseason. We were playing with house money, so I was happy either way.

I think I’m going to be majorly stressed just like the old times this time, and I’m kind of looking forward to it right now.

That's the beauty of being a fan. Personally, I feel that this team can be the best team in the playoffs, or it could as easily be the worst team if everyone slumps. Having last years WS in our back pocket will eliminate the stress for me personally.

However, I hate the ****ing Dodgers. And if Freeman has a big series against us, I will surely be pissed
