GDT: Braves @ Phillies Game 3: No Mentum Like Momentum

I'm not going to get into theories or choking accusations, or narratives like our guys are soft or scared, etc.

But I will simply say its disappointing the quality of at bats we are having. Its not like we've been lining out all over these past few games, driving balls, etc. Its just been shockingly weak contact relative to our standards, tons of strike-outs, just really ****ty ABs all around.

Even Acuna is 2-4, but we are three games in and he hasn't even come close to "driving a ball" - and now I'm admittedly being picky, because I get that he's 2-4, but don't think he has hit a single ball to the outfield on the fly this series? Again, just bizarre.

We have one homer from the Acuna / Riley / Olson / Ozuna / Albies tandem. Tough stat to pull, but can't imagine many 3 game stretches this year that the combo of them had one homerun - and beyond homeruns, just even gappers, balls driven or high EV abs. It's just been bizarre.

I don't have an answer why, is it possible its just a small sample size? Maybe? But to have all these sluggers we've had all year just looking helpless when it counts the most is at best simply disappointing and bad luck and arguably symptomatic of a group that just collectively seems to be pressing and in their heads

It’s one thing to lose, it’s another to be dominated like this. It’s really hard to come back from a beating like this

Winners do it. The 2021 Braves did it in the NLCS and World Series. If this team is the group of hard nosed winners that we think they are, they’ll do it too.

After the 1990s and the past six years, you gotta admit that we perpetually come up small in the postseason. It gets so old.

AA needs to address the pitching in the off season period...that's all there is to it. Start drafting career bullpen guys who throw 98+...
