GDT: Braves @ Red Sox: Grissom Makes His Debut

That last at bat was impressive. You can tell he’s ahead of Harris with his plate discipline. Braves haven’t really had a prospect in a while whose dependent on maintaining a low K / high BB rate.
 
Radio said Grissom is the first player to ever hit a homer and steal a base in his debut. That seems far fetched. But our radio guys said it was true.
 
I think we can all agree how prodigious the power Grissom showed can truly be in a year or two of maturity.

Omg I feel stupid. I saw him today and thought he didn’t look like Marquis. Then I saw his family and realized that wasn’t Marquis Grissom. I don’t know why I had connected them in my head.

Hopefully he’s another good young player for us. Circumstances have accelerated his call up but that was a really good debut.

I was sitting there wondering how Jason Marquis made his way into the discussion.
 
What a fantastic debut for the kid. Gotta love that. I was watching the Sox replay and they took time to interview the fans who got Grissom's HR. Apparently it nearly hit this guy in the face as he was walking out of a restaurant. They returned it for a few signed balls and hats, so Grissom did get it back.

I also assumed he was Marquis' kid until I saw him.

Marquis' son plays in the gNats org and is easy to spot - name is Marquis Grissom......................JR. Played at Georgia Tech
