GDT Braves vs Gnats - Get the Bug Spray

What’s our weird deal with Mike Ford? I get he’s a lefty but that doesn’t matter if you can’t hit anything
 
Wouldn't be a terrible idea to play Ford at 1B at least once over the weekend to give Olson a breather before the Mutts series.

He had a nice 50-game stretch for the Yankees back in 2019, but that's about it.

His minor league numbers show someone who can take a walk and jack the occasional homer. I kind of suspect that if you gave him a full season's worth of ABs in the Majors he would at least be a somewhat respectable hitter. But as a 1B/DH-only guy with no baserunning contributions, that basically makes you a replacement-level player.

In the days of 11-man pitching staffs he might have been able to hang around for a while, if he was one of those guys who could take to pinch hitting. Hard to find a spot for guys like him these days.
