GDT: Cards @ Braves 5/15

Welcome to the Bigs, Austin.

Got the 1st AB out of the way, now time to start a career setting record.

Who was the last Brave to hit a HR in his first ML at bat? I don't know the answer but I seem to remember a young Braves hotshot a few years ago doing it on a Sunday night against the Phillies.

Jason Heyward. I think Jordan Schafer homered in his first major league game, but not his first AB.

Oops. Wrong-o. Schafer did HR in his first AB, but it was a season before Heyward.

EDIT: Five Braves total across Milwaukee and Atlanta. Two of the other three won't surprise you, but the one from Milwaukee will. Played for the Braves in Milwaukee. Managed the Braves in Atlanta.

Schafer was the name I couldn't remember. I incorrectly thought Heyward homered in his first game against Chicago but I didn't think it was his first AB.

Dang. Back-to-back walks for Soroka. That’s rare. Complete luck for the Cards to catch Mike off. ;)

Against the Dodgers, the Braves are like a puppy who rolls over on his back and pees himself in the presence of the alpha dog. Hope we don't slip into that mentality against the Cardinals too.
