It's a good start for him but I doubt he's anything more than a bench bat/4th OF long term.

Neck would need an incredible season (for him) to be worth his contract at this point. But in the end it's not that big of a deal. Just wasted money in losing seasons which ironically what Melvin would have been.

Not sure I see the humor, but the answer is “no”. But, he might be worth a C+ prospect to some contending team, which is pretty best-case at this point.

AA is going to ride that 10 day DL/option train. If Carle is optioned he is certainly in the rotation of being brought back up.
