True. Giving up Simmons for a pitching prospect was a mistake regardless of who it was. Just too much of a bust factor among them.

We should fire whoever made that trade lol. It makes me able to stomach it a “tad” more that everyone who made that trade and the HO trade are no longer here.

I will give him a “little” bit because he was probably pumped up pitching against the Nationals. I don’t think he will ever become a tor type guy. Just hoping for a middle to back in guy at this point. This year will tell the tale.

Incredibly positive stat line for Newk. Improving to Gio-level control would be huge for the Braves...and that's an understatement.

170+ IP of 9+ K/9 and ~3.5 BB/9 is a 3-4 win pitcher.

I have to imagine he has all but secured a spot in the rotation. Only question now is if he gets 1-2 starts in AAA to stay stretched out until the Braves need 5 SPs.

Looks like someone was beginning to waffle when Newcomb was doing well in spring. Then goes back into "no way" mode with a bad outing. Priceless.
