GDT : July 11th, 2013 - Reds at Braves

Not walking, striking out a lot, not a lot of power, and unusually high BABIP those years. If you are fully prepared to believe that Chris Johnson of all people is going to be a high BABIP for the rest of his career then go ahead. I don't buy it.

He's got a career BABIP of .359.

Offensively it isn't. However when you are a horrible defender it leads to a not so good player.

For the THIRD (3rd) time, If Chris Johnson was even average defensively that batting line would be FINE. I don't know how many times I have to say it.

There's no proof that head first slides hurt you more. Ask Jose Reyes what he thinks about feet first slides. Players slide into empty bases all the time. You just don't like Heyward and when a player gets on your **** list you just find every thing they do wrong.

Apparently I am the only person who hates when Jason slides head first into first base. I don't like Heyward because I am critical of him? I thought we left this type of thinking two websites ago. I guess not.

I don't like Heyward sliding head first into first. I don't like anyone doing it. I think it's stupid.

Ok? I'm not hating on Chris as a hitter. He's an above average hitter. He has a high line drive rate which leads to a higher BABIP. I think he can be a 350ish BABIP guy throughout his prime. I have no issues with his hitting. But I do have issues with him overall as a player. He is a stop gap until he starts making serious money.

Bro you know I was being sarcastic with that second part. I know people hate the head first slide but like I said there's no real proof that it hurts anyone more than a feet first slide. Simmons got hurt earlier going feet first. It's all about how you slide not which way you slide.

Defensively "average" guys don't usually play 3B. Average in the league is pretty darn good.

It's tough to tell when someone is sarcastic or not on the interwebz.
