GDT: Marlins vs. Braves Friday, 5/27 aka the only team we can beat

Blair will start tomorrow. Bad news for those of you who had bet @KevinMcAlpin's house that Texeira would start.

Did someone actually make that bet? Nothing surprises me anymore so I am seriously asking. I know some here thought Gant or Jenkins but they both started the same day in a double header for Gwinnett and would've had to start on short rest to start saturday (three days rest) and I knew they'd not do that making Blair an easy guess.
 
I thought the whole reason for sending Blair down was to work on things, did he even make a start at AAA after going down? It appears he did make one start and that was not a good one. Why bring him back now?
 
Don't look now, but the Braves and Twins are coming close to passing the Reds. I've felt for awhile that the Reds (and later Padres) would be our competition for the number 1 pick.

It will be those four teams in contention for the #1. I see the Padres doing what we did last season in overperforming for the first half of the season and then unloading a bunch of guys at the deadline. I have to believe there will be a market for Shields and--don't laugh--Melvin. Cashner, Rodney, Myers, Solarte, and Jay may also be targets. They do have some ready replacements in AAA, so their fall-off would at least bring the promise of something, but Preller seems to have a case of GM ADHD so expect anything.
