terrible job by us against a pitcher trying to walk the house. Camargo DP on ball four and Markakis would've had 3-1 count had he not been chasing outside pitches.

They have bailed Newk out of at least 3 additional walks by swinging at pitches not even close to the zone...
Facing teams like the Marlins allows newks walk rate to be artificially low

Overall I feel pretty terrible about Newcomb's start today. If that was against a more respectable team and he doesn't get yanked earlier than that, he walks at least 8 men.
If this is what we're going to see, that's not major league caliber pitching anywhere pitching wise on your roster for a credible ML team and this is going to be a terrible second half for him.

Saturday's rainout was a blessing in disguise for Newcomb and the Braves. Snitker had him slated to face the Nationals. I know he pitched well against them earlier this year, but that likely would've been ugly based on how he is pitching tonight.
