GDT: Nits vs Braves 4/6

Bowman said Fredi was more critical of Aybar's throw than AJ's lack of catching. Erick's throw was bad but wtf?? Freddie gave AJ an easy laser to catch.

I'll admit Aybar's throw was off but he wasn't set when he threw the ball. AJ was set and ready and just flat out missed it....and it was his 2nd game in a row where he cost us the game at home plate.

Aybar's biggest mistake was not realizing who the runner was. With Ramos running he probably had time to set his feet and get something on the throw.

But AJ missing the ball was inexcusable. If I was the player that had just lost us two games because of an inability to catch throws to the plate, I'd be at the park bright and early this morning with a pitching machine set up behind second to work on throws to the plate.

AJ didn't get a lot of work this spring. I wonder if that has contributed to his early shakiness.

Another thing that looks shaky is Aybar's arm. Freddie bailed him out once last night. Of course, we've been spoiled on that score, to say the least.

I hope Ozzie and/or Swanson explodes and forces their way onto the scene. Either one would be a big upgrade.
