GDT: NLCS Game 2 Braves vs Dodgers 10/13

Found this blog post on Kyle Wright's change for those who hadn't heard about it. Maybe Enscheff can confirm the significance.

Tomlin, a veteran right-hander stashed in Atlanta’s relief corps, suggested to Wright that he make a slight change to his mechanics and move a couple of inches left on the rubber.

Throughout his time in the Majors, he’s thrown from the left-middle side of the mound, but Tomlin was hoping that throwing closer to the first baseman could allow him to maximize the effectiveness of his pitches.

Not yet, but it's probably Kershaw, if not then probably May.

As far as I know there was no indication that Kershaw’s back was hurting him. He’s had back issues in past and began the season on the IL with back issues. Clearly there is something going on with him so I wouldn’t count on him pitching just yet.

My goodness, reading this board, you'd think the Braves are down 0-2 instead of up 2-0. Knock it off, some of you

Lololololol as a 99 rated Mike Trout card owner in my diamond dynasty... I take offense to this. I know better than you and the rest of the board because I post a lot. In fact, if I continue at this rate with my analysis I will continue to be wrong about every player, manager, and the team, (like I always have been) and will, in turn, continue to bring good “luck”.. yes luck. It’s not about the athletes or game or talent, it’s on paper you idiot. I’m a ****ing athlete..

I'm not sure how scared I am of Kershaw in game 4 if he's having back spasms. Sure he may pitch, but he's obviously not the old Kershaw and he will likely not be 100%... that could easily end up being a disaster for the Dodgers. I also think Urias is better out of the pen and Wright's for real. Finally, I am also a homer so all of that may be BS but I'm going with it.

Lololololol I can confirm it’s significance. My 1st step dad had a Mickey Mantle rookie card.

That’s what I am trying to say to all these nega Braves. Damn negas need a shot of homerism poured by you and I.

Any and all Ws are the same in the postseason. But it was a dam nail biter for sure. Pressure is squarely on the Dodgers now to not piss away another shot at a ring.

Moving a few inches on the rubber may have been a mental thing, but the improvement for Wright is due to increased sinker usage. I called for him to ditch the 4 seamer the moment he made his MLB debut. The sinker is by far his best fastball variant, and that’s been the case all along.

Did anyone hear what that question was to Melancon? Someone asked him something and his response was, “I think that’s a terrible question and I’m not even going to answer.”

Why not replace him then?

Something could be said for the teams confidence. If Kershaw is taken off the roster it instantly deflates the morale of the team. I am thinking that Roberts and staff think if Kershaw can pitch at all, it’s better than the next man up.

No.
I imagine it was something about him being the best defensive OF on the team.
