GDT: No Game Thread Game Thread 9/2/20 - Braves @ Red Sox

Does anyone else feel like Duvall hitting 3 homers vs the Red Sox kinda takes the shine off Ozuna doing it?

No, it's still wildly impressive. Yes, the Red Sox pitching isnt good but no one else who has faced them has done that this year. It's still very hard and impressive despite that.

The MLB update on my phone said it was the first time in history.

When the Yankees did it, they were playing consecutive DHs. So there were two games between the three home run games. Thus proving statistically that Yankees are wusses.

I mean I get that but it’s like if the Red Sox could let Duvall do it than it’s not really that surprising that Ozuna could do it vs them.

Tomorrow...
Game 1 - milone
Game 2 - tomlin

To be fair, they're both typically decent one, maybe two times through the order... so approximately half of a seven-inning game. This is the best opportunity we could have for these two. Also, less room for a Snit fail (I hope...).

Who are we countering with. Fried can’t go till Sunday so we have trash going the first three games and twit will try and get 6 innings out of each.

It's an odd feeling, rooting for the Zombie Expos, but I think a Phillies loss today helps the Braves more than a ZE win hurts.

So far, things are playing out nicely, vis-à-vis the matchup tomorrow: Sanchez only gave them 3.1 IP, they've since deployed five relievers, and the Phillies just tied things up, so there's potential for more bullpen taxation. Heading into a DH, with the Braves having had today off—well, let's hope it's a good recipe for some Braves success tomorrow, even considering they'll have Tomlin and Milone suiting up.

Phillies won in extra innings. Completed the four game sweep of the lowly Nats.

Why can't Fried go Saturday on normal rest?

Probables show him doing just that, with Anderson on Sunday. I'm hoping we'll then see Wright on Monday against Miami, then maybe Toussaint (or whoever is throwing well at Gwinnett) on Tuesday (instead of Tomlin on short-rest).

Terrible catch-&-throw by Robles. Off the bat, Bohm was pissed, because it didn't look nearly deep enough to score; but Realmuto has pretty good wheels, and Robles bungled pretty much every step defensively.
