GDT: Phillies @ Braves 9/21

What was that by Albies? man. So much for the leadoff hit.

I didn't see the check, but the thing people keep missing in these strikeouts, even if it's on chases, is he's missing pitches constantly now. He missed right down broad street before that check swing.

im wondering if he is still battling an injury as he isn't this bad, he is using all arms a lot. Maybe he needs a few days off.

Me too. That didn't look like enough to overturn.

I disagree, he clearly came off but never know if they will reverse it when they should. Camargo being on homeplate earlier this year not being reversed showed that even in clear case some umpires reviewing will simply not go against their own.

MLB needs to change that rule now that we have replay. If the player touches the bag and then slides over the bag then they should still be safe so long as part of their body is still over the bag.

I agree. People are going to start sliding differently and hurting themselves. Plus, it’s a cheap way to get an out.

I think the MLB hierarchy is in more in the business of protecting its umpires than necessarily getting the call right. In the case of the play at third base, the ump couldn't have reasonably seen what happened so they were comfortable with overturning it. I know it's "conspriracy theory" but I can't recall many instances of calls being overturned when it's close and the ump just missed it.
