We won a ton of those damn games mainly because we had true ace pitching on the mound.

Player rest is likely the next big advance in analytics as it will allow players to avoid injury and play more closely to peak more often.

But no, a single game off isn't a big deal. Like everything else in baseball, it's a small advantage that needs to be taken consistently to provide measurable value over the course of many games.
