This is what I was thinking too....Very interesting to see Pache in CF and Ender in LF. This almost suggests Ender has been declared the 4th OFer.
Why are we giving Panda run at all....

Not sure this was ever really in doubt as long as both are healthy to start the season. Can't imagine the option of DFAing Ender was ever actually an option - they're not going to cut him or pay 90% of his salary to play for someone else, and that's probably the only way he was getting traded somewhere.
Because Lamb's spring average is currently 80 points lower than the typical board poster's weight.
you underestimate the average board poster

Why are we so confident in this invented wisdom? It seems to get repeated a lot, with no evidence either way.
I personally think that, if it looks like Inciarte can't contribute anything positive to the team by May or June, they'll definitely look to jettison and upgrade from him, regardless of the remaining cash on the ledger—just like they were more than willing to leave him off the postseason roster last year.

Personal assumption - just as yours is - not referencing any particular "evidence".
I look at it this way - if the money's as tight as DOB mentioned in his last column (that Greene wouldn't be re-signed unless he was willing to take a $1 million deal), paying Ender to not be on the roster NOW would potentially limit AA's chances if he were in a position to need to go to Liberty and ask for more money at the deadline. It's certainly easy to imagine the reply might be "if you thought you were going to need more money in July, why are we paying Inciarte $6 million to play CF for the Cubs (or whomever)?"
I agree that it's extremely easy to imagine him being cast aside closer to the All-Star break after Waters gets a couple more months worth of everyday ABs in Gwinnett (and wouldn't qualify early as a Super-Two guy), but I'm not sure they've seen enough from Ervin/Almonte/Heredia/Demeritte to pay Ender to go away April 1 - even with his decline, he's still probably a better option as a late-inning defensive replacement for Ozuna than those guys.
Ender in a wheelchair is probably a better defender than all off those three except for maybe Demeritte (remember Ender is in a wheelchair for purposes of this comparison). Ender's spot on the 25 is all going to boil down to if they feel they are short a bat on the bench. If that's the case, I wouldn't be surprised if they are scouring the waiver wire come the last week of March because none of these guys is all that scary at the plate.
And since he has an option remaining, it's tough to see him kept on the 26-Man while paying Ender to go home.
Something that's easily forgotten is that Terrance Gore signed a minor league deal WITHOUT a camp invite - if they decide they need a CF/speed guy to backup Pache and want to send Ender home before they want to start Waters' clock, he'll be in Gwinnett too.
