also the causality is a bit tricky...

Definitely. His velocity on his curve is slower than last year. Don't know if it's due to lost stuff or that he feels it's easier to throw strikes with less velocity. For some reason he has decided to use it less and use his less effective change more.

Edit- XWOBA Change up-.274, Curve .193

Why is he using the changeup more than the curve?

Phillips might not be quite ready, but I wouldn't write him off.

He was good in NY but apparently bad today. I didn't see it though as I stopped watching earlier. I am just glad the Phillies finally lost a game and so did the Nats, as the Nats had gained a couple games on us this series already and Philly have been gaining games every loss this week before their 6 game winning streak ended.

5-5 road trip... not pretty after we left St. Louis, but can't be upset with a .500 trip. Really would feel much better about the 2nd half if we could get good starts from our starters these last 5 games

Thanks the Lord for Sanchez !! Phillies and Nats both lose. We are Thur the toughest stretch of the year and still tied for first. I’ll take it.

Sure am glad we haven’t traded for an ace. Quantity over quality!

My bad y’all

I guaranteed a win

But it came out to be the first road loss I have been at in a while and the rust loss at all in nearly a year

Blame me

Braves lead for the last wild card spot has now slipped to just 2 games over the hard charging Dodgers.

East - nats
Central - cubs
West - dodgers

Phillies, braves, Brewers, cards, dbacks, Rockies, and giants go at for 2 wildcard spots. I like the brewers and DBacks

Man I just...I just don't know. I want to say the Nationals get hot and have at least another 22-6 stretch and overall correct themselves to playing well again even after that but based on what I'm seeing tonight...I just don't know. I think this is 2013 and 2015 all over again for them and it's odd as it's an even year.

In their defense, injuries have hurt them a bit and Harper is not performing MVP level, but yep this does remind me of 2013 for sure. I remmeber they gave us a run towards the end that year but didn't catch us obviously.

They’re getting beat 6-1 as we speak. But I completely agree. I feel like they’re a Harper hot streak away from going on a tear but one big-time injury from fully falling off.
