GDTl Braves @ Sillies: Middle of the Week Sunday Lineup

Not to put too fine a point on it but when somebody decides to no longer participate in an internet forum, why do they feel the need to announce their departure? Is it a desire for attention, do they want people to try to talk them back, or something else? Seems pretty simple to me--if you no longer find a forum interesting or if you think your contributions aren't given their due consideration, you just stop logging on to it...

It's a crazy phenomenon. I've noticed it extensively on WOW forums when people decide to "quit" playing
