GCL Braves come back from an early 4-run deficit to gut out an 8-7 win against the GCL Pirates. Grissom and Backstrom both 2/4. 2 RBI for Grissom, 1 for Backstrom. 3 RBI for Eliezel Stevens without a hit. Paolini 1/1 with 3 BB. Free agent RHP Brent Burgess gets his first professional win. Burgess was primarily a SS at Spartanburg Methodist College in 2016 and 2017 before becoming a pitcher at Middle Georgia College in 2018. He went back to playing SS at Middle Gwinnett College this past season. He was drafted in the 40th round in 2016 by the Texas Rangers and 38th round by the New York Yankees in 2017

DSL Braves lose 5-3 to DSL Astros. All Astros' runs were unearned. Wilmer Smith goes 3/4, Geraldo Quintero goes 2/4, and Alexander Then goes 2/4. LHP Osiris Sierra is the tough-luck losing pitcher.

Interesting to see them going with a lefty hitter. Could be a sign that there will be more platooning in left. With Joyce in the lineup more (or maybe Ortega down the road) and Duvall on the bench more, it makes a certain amount of sense. If the plan was to keep playing Duvall everyday they probably would have gone with a RHH (LaMarre) as a bench bat.

huge uptick in power this year..interesting.

It's almost like AAA started using the same juiced ball they use at the MLB level...

The Braves didn't acquire an OFer at the deadline, and are now carrying Rafael Ortega on the 25 man roster...

Pedro Ciriaco would be thriving in this juiced ball era.

True, I am not taking into account the 2019 MLB debut bump all Braves hitters have been getting.

Did someone say bump

Fire Frogs beat Bradenton 6-0 in the first game of their DH behind Brooks Wilson. 2-run HR for Wilkins. 2-run 2B for Josephina. 2 hits apiece for Lugbauer (edging ever closer to the Melvin Mendoza line) and Logan Brown.

I just checked mine for the first time and it said I have no friends. What kind of mean **** is that and how did this site know.

I took pity on you and decided to be your friend.

Then I saw that you restarted the debate about trading Freeman. You have no one to blame for your friendless state but yourself.
