Georgia Religious Freedom Bill

Maybe the progressives would be so kind as to go ahead and tell us everything they want fixed and what if any differing views or practices on all matters pertaining to LGBT they'll tolerate. I just need to know how large of a postage stamp I'm allowed to inhabit in their kingdom. ;-)

And these types of statements are just another way for leftists to feel morally superior to those they disagree with.
That's BS.

This had got NOTHING to do with left/right. It's just basic human decency. It's very easy to feel morally superior to this kind of cruelty. Christians used to say "Judge not", and "Do unto others..." Now any dumbass can deny anyone for most anything. These laws are unconstitutional and will end up in the dustbin eventually.

Some port sites are blocking North Carolina users over the law. Too funny and such a great idea.

The left loves the free market when when the LGBT crowd gets involved.

The free market is a powerful thing.

Things like this prove my point that free market would shun businesses that say "no blacks allowed" without the need for government regulation

yes, the magical free market that stopped the practice of "no blacks allowed"

oh wait, it wasn't the market that did that

just like it wasn't the free market that stopped the "owning black people" cause the market said they were property and not free people

the "free market" is infallible

except all those times that it truly doesn't care about the ideals we say we practice

let's move on to "if you cut tax on the rich, it will "trickle down" to everyone" since i am sure we can knock out all the greatest hits in just a few posts

why are you attacking Christians with a post like this?

the war on Christians is full tilt in this country cause of people like you trying to push your agenda on to the masses

oh wait, you mean the "under God" was added in the 1940s and actually wasn't part of the pledge and it was people pushing their religious views on others? no way?

It's not an anti christian attack so let's attack christians to prove that it's not an anti christian attack.

I actually think this argument is the perfect position of the left. It's essentially saying if you disagree with me then you aren't a decent human being. It also argues that christianity sucks because of its hypocrisy, and if you have reasonable reason to deny service than you are a dumbass.

Runnin says if you disagree with him than you are anti constitutional. I would argue that I take the oppossite position other than maybe runnin and I will both end up in the dust bin.

I suppose it all depends if you believe in property rights or not... I suppose when you personally disagree, you don't. why aren't you outraged with me about the Olivia cruises?

You've got businesses pulling out of NC - which will very likely cause legislative change... that's the market at work.

I'm not sure why you have gone so commie over the last few years... you love your dictatorships and breadlines. Anyone who disagrees with you is an intolerant, uneducated, bigot. If only we could all be as wise as you (except when it comes to basic math of course)...

I'm curious as to how much longer you think the free market would have taken to end slavery and legal segregation. I guess the market would have eventually decided that Fascism was a threat to freedom and defeated the Axis in a trade war.

That's the logical extension of your argument.

This is a really fun argument. Personal liberty is everything to you, right? What greater offenses against personal liberty are there than actual chattel slavery or legal apartheid? But, yannow, let the market sort it out.

Ever get that sneaking suspicion that libertarians care about some freedoms more than others?

The thing that frustrates me about this stuff more than anything else is how the loudest people shouting in these debates tend to know the least about what it actually going on. You have people looking for causes to rally around and they aren't afraid of completely misrepresenting what's happening just to have a cause. This goes for all sides of the debate.

People need to chill and learn that in a free society, people are going to do things you don't like and running to the government to try to stop them degrades us all. Every freedom lost is a defeat for all of us, even if you didn't want to use the freedom. Live your life according to your beliefs. If you think someone else is living wrongly you have every right to try to persuade them to do things differently. Don't run to the government to try to force them to act how you want them to.

I think slavery is a violation of one's personal liberty.

I don't think denying someone a cake from a private business is.

To each his own I guess

I am sympathetic to your position, but in a world where the population has become increasingly concentrated in urban and suburban areas, living together is a bit more complicated than when half the people lived in rural areas. My uncle used to bathe nude in his front yard (no bathtub in his house) because he was a quarter mile off the township road. Now, I'd love to emulate him and draw a tub of water and plop it down on my front lawn, but I'm guessing the neighbors wouldn't take kindly to my hygiene routine.

I'm tired of folks off all stripes running to government to remove a sliver from their psyches, but somehow we have to be able to enforce sensible limits on behaviors in order to exist peacefully in modern society. People aren't entitled to feel comfortable all the time. That is the failure of the movement that has produced a faux self-esteem among the population. People need to stop being clueless and show some measure of respect for reasonable opposing viewpoints and practices. Government can't do anything about that.
