Georgia Religious Freedom Bill

These new laws should be called The Cooties laws.

Ewwwww. You have cooties. You're against my religion.

I don't think people being weirded out by transgender is that abnormal. It's not like it's a common thing.

But by all means - continue insulting everyone who disagrees with your viewpoint... it must be nice being so tolerant and morally superior

Looks like McCrory is going to go back and try to amend the broad pro-discrimination measures that were passed as part of the bill.

I think slavery is a violation of one's personal liberty.

I don't think denying someone a cake from a private business is.

To each his own I guess

But you do think that laws preventing discrimination are a net negative to personal liberty, or no?

I think laws that don't allow businesses to make their own choices is net nagative.

I'm fine with the government not denying someone. I'm not fine with the government mandating businesses comply with the will of the LGBT mob. I believe a business has the right to deny service to anyone for any reason. Even if the reason is repugnant.

It's interesting how, in this situation, it's "the mob" and not "the market." Seems like Deutche Bank, PayPal, and the Boss are the latter.

You avoided my point, but that is OK.

The LGBT crowd is not one you want to mess with.

I wish they devoted some of that energy to Olivia cruises for their discrimination

It's even more sinister than simply not letting a business make its own choices. You're at the point where you have laws that require someone render personal services or subject themselves to punishment. To me this is a direct violation of the 13th amendment banning involuntary servitude.

"Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."

The idea that it's okay to punish someone because they don't want to render service is utterly repugnant to me. Their reason for not wanting to do it could be the most abhorrent, racist reason ever and it shouldn't matter. If you don't want to render a service then no governmental coercion should be able to be leveled against you.

You are correct, per usual. But that is what the left has become - basically fascists. Submit to our will or be punished.

Meanwhile, we have the feds now threatening to prosecute people for believing climate change doesn't exist... Now people can get in trouble for just having an opinion.

Crazy world.

Porn Hub shut down IP addresses from NC for homophobia.
hours later the Governor relented - to a degree

This is just ridiculous. Of course you can dissent - so can Springsteen, PayPal,the NBA etc etc etc. Having said that, their dissent carries a little more weight than a baseball board poster.
Hey, what do I know

Actually, looking at polling nationally, the homophobes are getting their tails waxed (no pun intended)
.................

Speaking about the dangers of bathrooms, just saw where a number of peple are confused why the longest occupier of (R) Speakership is not getting more notice.
Denny Hastert is up to 4 long time violations with, yes it was, boys.

and, the Tennessee Rep that wrote the bathroom bill for Tenn. has been not on the moral high ground.
So to speak.
You were saying about HRC's scandals ?

................

Used to be a saying in the 70's
"The Moral Majority Is Neither"

I'm still interested to hear Sturg's interpretation of when the market is the almighty market whose will must always be obeyed and when it's a mob of pro-LGBT bullies.

I think the market is behaving how it is designed.

Doesn't mean I always agree with the conclusions. But paypal and springsteen pulling out is a better way to handle this the heavy hand of the government.

You've avoided my questions about business owner rights... and that's ok. If the LGBT mob has an issue - the government will take care of it. Don't you worry.

We live in a society now where a speaker says that he believes people with penises are males... and he gets chastised as a transphobe, and a bigot, and isn't allowed to speak publicly ever again.

What was that goldfly line? Why the **** do people care what this guy thinks?

The LGBT mob has decided no matter who you are, if you don't agree with them, you don't deserve to breathe the same air on this planet.

And since it's the hip thing to do now it's easy to hop on board to score some cheap political points.

It'd be nice if our society wasn't so PC, don't you think? It'd be nice if we could peacefully have differing views.

But the mob won't allow it anymore.

Except on Olivia Cruises of course

I must have missed your questions. Which ones?

No questions I guess... Just points. You keep moving past them to try to play "gotcha" on the free market thing.

Here's one...

Do business owners have any rights at all? Or must they comply with whatever the public demands?

Springsteen refused service due to his beliefs, right? Just want to make sure I'm following things well enough.

With what a certain segment of the public demands.
