Georgia Senate Runoff

The thing is, most people don't really care about the individual candidates in these runoffs. Everyone knows they're voting to either give Pelosi and Shumer total control of the government, or to give Mcconnell the power to restrain them. That's it. So we can find out that Ossoff craps gold bricks or Perdue eats puppies, but it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. There's no such thing as a moderate Democrat or an extremist Republican, or vice versa. It's simply a matter of whether you want Mitch or Chuck running the Senate.

non sense, you will be back here before the end of the day selectively condemning twitter.

Check in the next time Shapiro or that Procybcxic of AG Conservative with your look the other way

Pretty transparent

shouldn't you be on twitter? how will we all know whats going on there if you don't rush back here to tell us!

of course it matters.

I want Ossoff and Warnock representing me in the Senate rather than Perdue or the rich lady
Based on our common policy wants

Not to mention, (R) Senators are crooked and see their position as nothing more than a means of hoarding more money and imposing 19th century values on society
look it up

While Kelly Loeffler Opposed New COVID Aid, Her Husband’s Firm Sought to Profit Off the Pandemic
Intercontinental Exchange made a $11 billion deal because the coronavirus crisis created an opportunity.

In October, Atlanta magazine asked Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.), while she was running for re-election, what should be done for Georgians who, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, couldn’t pay rent and who might face eviction. Loeffler didn’t answer the question. And this month, she and the rest of the Republican Senate caucus left Washington without dealing with the looming eviction crisis, the expected rise in mortgage foreclosures, and the need for economic relief, as the spread of coronavirus intensified. Yet while Loeffler has taken no steps in recent months to address these pressing matters, the Fortune 500 company run by her husband—in which she holds between $5 million and $25 million in stock—has sought to profit off the pandemic’s impact on the housing market and the mortgage industry.

Rather than ban private prisons how about having a neutral person in the prisons to monitor human rights abuses. Many prisoners deserve the bad treatment they get but it's still illegal and not right. Banning private prisons is just virtue signaling on the issue.

I disagree, private prisons are for profit prisons. For profit prisons get paid by the bed. The more prisoners the better the bottom line.

Seems more of a problem with how they're paid. In any event, I don't have strong feelings on the subject. There are lots of things more wrong with the justice system that should be fixed first.

being a white men of means, we have no reason to even know the perils of for profit prisons.
How many have been arrested under suspicious circumstances. How many deputies are getting kick backs
How many that should have been released are held due to an uneven for profit justice system

From where I sit this is a good and doable place to start to repair the wrongs of the justice system

Can we replace the private prisons with the ones I saw on Saturday morning cartoons? Where the prisoners break rocks all day long and have things like bread and water for some of their meals? I know some people call that cruel, but I think it's more accurate to call it deterrence.

Far too many people locked up for BS and innocent people convicted for me to support harsh conditions for prisons. People dont really understand just how BS our justice system is. Just for example, the whole "expert" witness system prosecutors use is ridiculously corrupt. The experts get paid to say what the prosecution wants them to say and if they dont they will find a new expert. Thats a bit oversimplification of it but there is a lot of pressure on these experts to give the "right" conclusion and saying what the prosecution wants is going to get them more work in the future. Most defendants cant even afford to bring in their own experts. It wasnt that long ago that arson investigations were just outright guesswork and hunches.

Phoebe Foundation Receives $1 Million Donation share Share
Albany, Ga. – Phoebe received an exceptionally generous gift to help provide personal protective equipment (PPE) for Phoebe care team members on the frontline of the COVID-19 battle. Sen. Kelly Loeffler and her husband Jeff Sprecher donated $1 million to the Phoebe Foundation’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.

“Sen. Loeffler has been a wonderful partner with Phoebe throughout our entire response to the COVID-19 pandemic. I have spoken with her numerous times, and she has been a passionate advocate for hospitals in our state as we have sought federal resources to assist in our efforts to meet the unprecedented healthcare needs created by this public health crisis. I was blown away several weeks ago when Kelly and Jeff offered such a generous personal donation to help the Phoebe Family. They were clear, they want their gift to pay for PPE for our frontline staff, and that is exactly how we will utilize their donation,” said Scott Steiner, Phoebe Putney Health System Chief Executive Officer.

Phoebe’s COVID-19 response has required the health system to use what would typically be a year’s worth of PPE every 10 days or less. Phoebe’s supply team has gone to extraordinary lengths to source and purchase PPE, often paying greatly inflated prices. “We are so grateful for this donation that will help offset our incredible, unanticipated expenses. We are especially thankful that this gift is already helping us protect our staff,” Steiner said.

Let’s review:
-A lawyer posing death threats
-A retired general suggests martial law
-State GOP officials harassed for their integrity
-resources wasted on “recounts.”
-COVID deaths 2000+/day
-POTUS focus on pardons

And most GOP senators saying nothing.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...registration-group-run-by-warnock/ar-BB1bwExF

The New Georgia Project, a voter registration group formerly led by Georgia Democratic Senate candidate Raphael Warnock, is under investigation for allegedly sending ballot applications to non-residents, the Georgia secretary of state said Monday.

Warnock was CEO of the group, which was originally founded by failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, until February. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced the group, and three others, are under investigation for improper registration activities.

While Raffensperger, a Republican who has been vocal in debunking President Trump’s claims of election fraud, said that he has not seen signs of widespread, systemic fraud, there is evidence of “third-party groups working to register people in other states to vote here in Georgia.”

Raffensperger said the New Georgia Project “sent voter registration applications to New York City,” in a potential violation of state law.
...
Three other voter registration groups are also under investigation, Raffensperger said, including America Votes, which allegedly sent “absentee ballot applications to people at addresses where they have not lived since 1994.”

Vote Forward allegedly registered a dead Alabama voter in Georgia while Operation New Voter Registration Georgia is accused of recommending college students temporarily change their residency for the purpose of voting in the state.
