I don't really know on the gun, except it would be odd that Straily was hitting right on his averages and Newcomb would be way over. Also weird for Newcomb to bump up 2-3 MPH over what he's been reported to throw, so dunno.

Promising start either way.

I think that's exactly what happened. I am willing to bet pitchfx will show Straily was hovering right around 90 all night, and will also show Newk was being over shot.

As hard as it is to think Newk was hitting 101.. I just don't see why the gun would be juiced JUST for Newk on his second big league start. I just see no benefit in doing so. But what ever. I am more interested in how he comes out next start over some Fx data.
