Ah, damn, with how you trust polls now at certain times

It’s logical that you would believe snopes now

But you should get more outraged over non military dogs being left behind

'Non-military dogs'

My God - You are hopeless.

Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby called out Fox News and other right wing media outlets spreading false information. "To correct erroneous reports, the U.S. Military did not leave any dogs in cages at Hamid Karzai International Airport, including the reported military working dogs. Photos circulating online were animals under the care of the Kabul Small Animal Rescue, not dogs under our care," Kirby said in a tweet.

LOL - This **** really works on you.

The argument of leaving hte dogs behind is still very valid.

BUT BUT BUT THEY AREN'T IN CAGES!!!

Useful idiot.

Its kinda funny and sad that the left has found themselves twice in the last two weeks killing dogs (Australia) and leaving dogs behind (Afghanistan)

Not a side I wanna be defending but TLHLIM

I’m not in favor of killing dogs or abandoning them. I just find it incredibly frustrating that so many seem only to care about beings that have a sentimental attachment to us such as a dog or a countryman. I get that we can’t save everyone, but these feel like such conflicting ideals.

this is an interesting philosophical question

there is something called rule utilitarianism that offers some guidance

the idea is while you can care about people across the world you can apply that caring more practically to those close to you

to give an extreme example you have more of a moral obligation toward a baby left on your doorstep than to a baby abandoned some distant place

Hell occupy democrats - 57s favorite Facebook group - outwardly cheering separating a child from their mother bc the mother wasn't vaccinated.

The left defends some ****ed up ****

Thank you, I was aware of the theory, but could not think of the name for the life of me. I have always found this to be very unconvincing from a purely ethical standpoint, but have found it much messier from a practical standpoint. Where I find it to be abhorrent is at these larger scales. There are thousands of children that we should be concerned with in Afghanistan right now, yet people focus on one child because of their original nationality while actively opposing efforts to help the other children. I can see the practical outweighing the principle at a micro level, but really struggle with it at this level of nationalism.

They are doing this for our health

This is an issue with policing, not the law. Though I’d think with as many times as I’ve heard “just comply” as the solution to police brutality from the right that I wouldn’t be seeing this argument.

I actually recently watched a good video from a leftist YouTuber (gasp) on how quickly many right-wing pundits immediately retreat from their position on just following the law when it suits them. (And yes, the Left is guilty of it too, as seen in the reaction to 1/6 and the fawning over law enforcement and rush to impose overly strict sentencing)

It’s weird how “if only you comply” changes depending on who it is happening to

If Orange One had ended the war and withdrawn in the exact same way, trumpheads here would be singing his praises to the high heavens.

FWIW, I'm much more of a imperialist than Biden myself, but I give him credit for doing what he wanted to do 10 years ago when he was VP. I think his decision to truly end the war is only going to grow in popularity. Orange One is kicking himself for not doing it when he had the chance.
